About Us

Our Mission

We are a Gospel-centered community devoted to Scripture and unified in mission. The Gospel impacts all that we are. The Bible shapes all that we do. Christ unites us all in purpose and mission as we go into the Valley and the world to glorify God and help all people follow Jesus.

We desire to see the Gospel radically change our community. When we devote ourselves to following Jesus and His Word, there is nothing in us that He does not redeem. We see the change Jesus works in our church moving also into our community. This change by Christ is real, visible, and impactful. It affects us as individuals (2 Corinthians 5:17-18), our families (Acts 16:30-34), our businesses (Acts 19:17-20), our institutions (Colossians 3:1-17), and ultimately our world (Revelation 21:1-5).  What does radical change look like in your life?

Our Vision

What We Believe

The Gospel

The Gospel is the good news of the hope we have in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospel story changes us and tells us:

  • God is the holy, just, and gracious Creator of all things. (Gen 1:1, Ex 34:6-7, Isa 43:15)

  • All people are created by God in His image, but we are all corrupted by sin. (Rom 3:11-12, 23; 6:23)

  • Jesus is the only One who can remove our sin and restore us to God. (John 14:6; 1 Cor 15:1-4; 2 Cor 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24)

  • Our eternal destiny hinges on our response to Jesus. (Mark 1:15; John 3:16; Rom 10:9-10; Matt 16:24-26)
Scripture

The Bible is true, authoritative, and without error. We accept Scripture as an all-sufficient and infallible source of knowledge for saving faith and Christian living. We recognize it as the only normative source of divine revelation and understand all Scripture is the testimony to Jesus Christ, who is Himself the revealing of God in person. (2 Tim 3:16; Matt 4:4; Isa 40:8)

Worship

Gospel-centered worship produces action. We desire vibrant and authentic worship where we engage and encounter the one true, holy God. We provide regular outlets to worship corporately and learn to worship personally. We strive to center our worship on who God is and what He has done so that it is less about an experience and more about glorifying God in a way that motivates and encourages us in mission. (Psalm 95; Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 3:16-17)

Unity

Our church is a community of Christ followers unified in purpose and mission. Our unity comes from our mutual devotion to Christ and the care for one another that is produced by his Spirit in us. We are a group of people covenanted together committed to glorifying God and helping each other grow to be more like Jesus. We work together to share the Gospel, make disciples of Jesus, and serve those in need. (Phil 2:1-18; Rom 12:3-21, Col 3:1-17)

As a church, we also affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. (https://bfm.sbc.net/)

Our Story

A little over 15 years ago ValleyBC was at a crossroad: Stay the same or make significant changes to reach more people for Christ? Through the faithful prayers of our members, the Lord gave our people a renewed vision to become a church that would reach people no one else was reaching. So the journey began, and we followed God. Many unexpected turns have greeted us along the way as we’ve seen numerous major changes in the life of our church as we have grown more Gospel-centered, Biblically structured, and culturally relevant. Today, God has graciously led us to the next chapter in that journey in a way that He alone deserves the glory. He has given us a new facility that better fits our collective vision as a church. We are beyond excited for the future as we follow Jesus and see the power of His Gospel impact and change our community and the areas of the world He sends us!
