Visiting a new church can be hard. We’re here to make that step a little easier. Here is what you can expect at our Sunday service:
Our worship services begin at 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. eastern standard time. If we had to put a label on it, we would call our worship style “modern.” Our worship band leads the congregation using mainly modern songs and a variety of instruments. From guitar, drums, keyboard and piano to the occasional lap steel guitar, our church thoroughly enjoys our time of worship. Mainly, we just love music that helps us connect with the heart of the Father.
Sermons at Valley Baptist Church are designed to meet you where you are, while encouraging you to take the next step in your faith. Still considering this Christianity thing? No problem. You’ll relate to the straight forward talk and appreciate the lack of churchy words. Been walking with Jesus for years? Good! You’ll gain a fresh perspective on His word and be challenged to grow in new ways.
For the most part, sermons follow a series usually taken from one book of the Bible.
Come as you are. Well, maybe change out of pajamas. But other than that, we think you will find most people wear casual, everyday clothes. You’ll see people at our worship service in everything from jeans and shorts, to maxi skirts and khakis. The only “normal” here is that everyone comes in what is comfortable for them.
Got kids? Good. We do too. And lots of them! We trust yours will feel right at home with ours.
For the little ones, we offer age divided nurseries for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers during the worship service. Our check-in security system helps us keep track of which parent belongs to which child. All of our childcare workers are back ground checked so you can feel at ease knowing they are in good hands.
Children ages K4, K5 and 1st grade are invited to dismiss and attend Children’s Church just before the start of the sermon. Our pastor will announce that it’s time, so you don’t have to worry about missing it. During Children’s Church, kids will engage in a Bible teaching time designed with them in mind, enjoy a snack, and participate in activities and crafts that reinforce the lesson. To pick your child up after the service, go out the door to the left of the stage, down the hall, first room on the left.
Here’s the deal, we don’t love our parking situation. For the newcomer, you are our honored guest and we invite you to enjoy the primo parking in the front lot. We even have signs saying they are reserved just for you! But…if you don’t find an available space, there is also parking across the street from the church. A friendly greeter will be glad to help your family cross the street and will take the hit if a car speeds your way.
Parking is also available behind the church, accessed by 56th street. Greeters in that parking lot will happily show you the way to the sanctuary.
We are so glad you’re joining us, and we want you to leave remembering it! After the service ends, visit our welcome center for a free gift. No obligations. Seriously. It’s a Free. Gift.
